any book i read on tiels it mentions the importance of giving your bird a "good quality" seed mix. these bags of feed from pet shops normally look the same. can anyone give me advice on identifying a good quality mix? |

Hi Dallas
regarding seed mixtures, you can get a cockatiel mixture from any good Pet shop, but saying that most of the seeds they put into the mixtures half of it the birds wont eat and gets wasted and is too expensive for that to happen.
I myself just use a good Budgerigar mixture that is 50% plain Canary Seed
and 50% millet or mixed millets and give them large sunflower in a separate
seed dish and never have any waste whatsoever.
The seed I use is Buckstons Seed and of course always give them a miilet spray twice or thrice a week.
Hope this of some help to you
